Munnar

This idyllic spot is a must see for anybody visiting Kerala. Munnar, 3 hrs from Kochi is a great place to stock up on locally grown tea. One of the must do things in Kerala is to visit the Kannan Devan Plantation Museum to see tea production & sample various teas. Visit the Kolukkumalai Tea Estate & a 100 year old factory by hiring a jeep from Suryanelli (25 km from Munnar). While visiting Munnar Tourist Places, you can sample many varieties & tastes of tes & purchase your favourite from the museum's own shop.

Athirapally Falls

The spectacular, 80 foot tall Athirapally Falls, dubbed the "Niagara Fslls of India," is one of the numerous things to do in Kerala. The waterfall is easily accessible by bus or taxi from Kochi Internationl Airport which is 55 km away. The falls are most popular during the monsoon season which runs from June to September when they are at their most spectacular. Just make sure to maintain the area clean & tidy while you're there.

Ambukuthi Hills

Edakkal Caves, nestled in the Ambukuthi Hills near Wayanad, are a must see attraction. These natural caves are home to Stone Age paintings & drawings some of which are thought to be over 7000 years old. A walk through these caves will undoubtedly transport you back in time. Periyar Wildlife Reserve

An elephant ride is a must do on every Kerala vacation. So whatever you plan to do in the city make a point of visiting Kerala's famous Periyar National Park & taking an elephant ride. This area is home to a variety of birds & mammals, the most well-known of which are tigers. An elephant ride inside the reserve will make you feel like a king as you see the creatures from atop this magnificent creature.

Bekal Fort

Bekal Fort is one of the well-preserved forts near Ksargod & is one of the top Kerala attractions. Due to its strategic location which is close to Karnataka this fort served as a significant place in the early days. People now come to this fort to learn about the legends & rulers as well as to immerse themselves in the history of the area.
